About

I am a creative producer and theatre maker with 20 years experience of working across the theatre and community development sectors.

I am the founder and Artistic Director of Brighton People’s Theatre and a bi-annual festival of open air theatre for children and young people called Starboard Festival. I also work freelance supporting theatres to engage local people in innovative ways.

In previous roles, I have run a community theatre company, done detached youth work on the streets, raised over £1 million and distributed it in small grants to community activists and campaigned for reforms to the benefit system. I have been fortunate to have worked for Battersea Arts Centre, Old Vic New VoicesLocality and the Community Development Foundation amongst others.

In 2014 I graduated with a distinction in an MA in Applied Theatre at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama through which explored the relationship between theatres and their local communities.

In 2015 I was one of 8 lucky artists selected by the Brighton Festival to participate in their Collidescope programme and I was made a Fellow of Birkbeck University’s Centre of Contemporary Theatre.
