I am a creative producer and theatre maker with 20 years experience of working across the theatre and community development sectors.
I am the founder and Artistic Director of Brighton People’s Theatre and I also work freelance supporting theatres to engage local people in innovative ways.
In previous roles, I set up a festival of open air theatre for children and young people called Starboard Festival. I ran a community theatre company, have done detached youth work on the streets, raised over £1 million and distributed it in small grants to community activists and campaigned for reforms to the benefit system. I have been fortunate to have worked for Battersea Arts Centre, Old Vic New Voices, Locality and the Community Development Foundation amongst others.
In 2014 I graduated with a distinction in an MA in Applied Theatre at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama through which explored the relationship between theatres and their local communities.
